Objective comparison is the only way to measure potential and set realistic goals.

Until someone ran a three-hour marathon for the first time, nobody knew it was possible. The ceiling was theoretical. Then a result existed, and suddenly everyone else had a number to measure against. And then they beat it. That's not joy-stealing. That's the entire mechanism by which humans figure out where the limits actually are. Only when people see the result can they compare themselves to it. And level up.

Thanks for this piece of text, great work!
